A dedicated presentation and workshop opportunity with Prof Marc Remacle (President) and Mr Guri Sandhu on updates in the use of the Co2 laser in ENT applications including a guide on how to use and adopt its use in procedures.

From an educational perspective, attendees will learn about the new and updated applications of the CO2 laser in advanced applications including an applied knowledge of how to use the instruments and technology. Our faculty of Prof Marc Remacle and Mr Guri Sandhu will lead the session updating the participants on applications and usage of the workhorse laser of ENT, the CO2 and specifically the AcuPulse and UltraPulse lasers from Lumenis. The first part of the session will focus on the physics of the laser and will be presented by Prof Marc Remacle, Following this Mr Guri Sandhu will give us an overview of the Free beam applications of the laser and will include some video content. Prof Marc Remacle will then round off the lecture material with a focus on fiber based uses of the laser. Participants will then be provided with an opportunity to work move to the workshop to apply hands-on uses and learn from our faculty who will offer applied knowledge of the instruments and the Co2 unit device currently used in such procedures.

Office based treatments in laryngology – with special attention to office-based augmentations, injections, biopsies and laser surgery.

This 2-hour workshop focuses on state-of-art handlings techniques, indications of different treatment modalities in office-based laryngology The. workshop gives ample time for demonstrations with many tips and tricks, interactive discussions and questions. Special attention will be given to vocal fold augmentation in cases of vocal fold paralysis as well as atrophic dysphonia. A different section will emphasize on the indications and techniques of using photoangiolytic blue laser use (e.g. Papillomatosis and Reinke’s edema etc.). A third section demonstrates injections of steroids, Botox and other substances endolaryngeally as well as biopsy techniques. The educational outcomes include knowledge of the techniques and indications of office-based laryngology in addition to basic knowledge of the instruments and devices currently used in such procedures.
